Rocket German Review - Easiest Way To Learn German Online?
Mood:  energetic

Rocket German is a system designed to give people the knowledge to speak the German language quickly and effectively. The course can be utilized online, or in a twenty disc set that gets shipped to your home.

Regardless of if you choose to learn the German language with Rocket German or if you decide the "hard copy" discs would be your preference, you will receive all the same exercises and programs to assist you.

There are a few things about this course that I feel make it less than perfect

When learning to speak a different language, it's usually best to have an instructor nearby in order to assist with questions that come up - since initially there are usually a few. With a course like this (or any other course that requires you to learn without the aid of an "in person" instructor) you don't have the luxury of an actual person directly at your disposal.

Also, if you choose to have the Rocket German course mailed to you with physical CDs, it may take a couple weeks to get it. It seems that there could be some better delivery options available for rush delivery... though there really is no reason to choose the delivery of the physical product unless for some reason it is absolutely necessary for you. It is much cheaper if you download the programs, exercises and MP3s anyway... plus you can receive them right away after paying rather than having to wait.

I ended up deciding to learn German online as a second language due to a unique opportunity that presented itself at work. There was some talk of a new position that was going to become available that is essentially the same job I do, but would also include some additional relations with German speaking clients.

By being able to speak the German language, I would be able to earn almost $20,000 extra every year doing basically the same job I do currently... so spending less than $100 and 2 months of my time (mostly while driving to work and back) seemed like a pretty good investment.

This is why my Rocket German review is definitely a positive one:

  • I can place all 31 audio lessons on my MP3 player and study in my car or while exercising

  • Over 300 pages of grammar exercises in the book (or e-book) and over 600 exercises and activities

  • The price was way cheaper than similar systems

  • The support has been amazing anytime I have had any questions

  • The interactive games and software that are included provide great "hands on" training

  • They offer a free 6 day course you can go through before you buy to get an idea of what the course will be like

If my Rocket German review needed a rating assigned to it on a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a score somewhere around an 8 1/2 and a 9.

I have never attempted to learn another language with a program like this before, so I don't really have anything to compare this program to, but as of now, after about 7 weeks spending close to 2and a half hours per day (on weekdays listening to the lessons and working on the exercises, I feel quite comfortable speaking the German language.

It will probably be at least an additional 2 or 3 weeks before I will be comfortable speaking face to face with business clients, but it is certainly faster than enrolling in a class, or having to read several books, hopefully then I can write a new Rocket German review.
